Aikido Sport

Aikido is a traditional Japanese art of self-defense that helps keep children away from violence and can help prevent bullying. It helps participants feel energized and positive and increases their physical fitness and respect for themselves and others. This sport is suitable for all ages and both sexes.

The Ghirass Cultural Centre started this sport in 2017 in cooperation with the German Foundation for International Development (GIZ), as GIZ provides the Ghirass Center with a professional trainer who is experienced in working with children. Children receive training on a weekly basis, and the Ghirass Center renews courses every two months so new children can take part and the lists of participants can be modified.
