Ghirass Centre celebrated the last day of the summer camp with 200 children and their parents. The ceremony started with a presentation of photos of the children ‘s activities, followed by Fabian from “ Musicians without borders”, who carried out various activities with the children.

Summer camp activities continue for the second week

Six groups of children visit all the sectors of the center daily and do the required 3 days internal activities and 2 days external activities.

For instance, they do some acting and singing in the drama and dabka sector.  While in the library they read and discuss stories and make competitions.

Ghirass center starts the 20th summer camp

Around 200 children participate in the summer camp, they are between 6-13 years old.

The children are divided into six groups according to age. Each group visits every sector in the center and the sectors are: computer, library, art, educational games, drama and outdoor games. In addition to these come awareness and educational activities that are offered in the psycho-social sector.

The Norwegian Social Educators and Social worker(FO) visit Ghirass Centre

On Wednesday 16th April 14 members from FO  visited Ghirass Cultural Centre. The FO and Ghirass has had a partnership for many years. The group were welcomed by the Director of Ghirass, Ibtisam Ilzghayyer and the rest of the staff . The group was shown a film about the work of Ghirass, and  activities that the centre provides. The visitors were given a tour of the centre  and were able to visit the Art Exhibition which showcased all the art work the children had produced over the last year.

Al-Mahed School visits the Art Exhibition at Ghirass.

As it was Childs day the children and teachers from the Al-Mahed School visited the Art Exhibition of children’s drawing and art work at Ghirass Cultural Centre. The principle of Ghirass made everyone feel welcome and said that they are always welcome at the centre.

Hiking to Battir

Hiking to Battir

On Friday 11th April Ghirass Cultural Centre organised a hiking to Battir for 80 children and their families. This activity takes place every year and gives the children an opportunity to understand the nature that surrounds them. The staff at Ghirass and some guests from German International  cooperation-GIZ- and Leicester friends of Bethlehem also joined the trip.

5th April 2014 marked the 20th Anniversary of Ghirass Cultural Centre. It was an extremely proud day for the centre and a big celebration. The day was a huge success with speeches, Dabka and many guests from different countries. It was also the same day as Children’s Day.

Art Exhibition 2014 at Ghirass

The Art Exhibition at Ghirass Cultural Centre was opened on 2nd April 2014 by the Governor  of Bethlehem Abed Alfatah Hamayel. The exhibition show  drawing and artwork produced over the year by children at Ghirass centre. Mr. Moussa Darwish, the chairman of Bethlehem Arab Society for Reabilitation( BASR) and Mr Abo Moher the director of BASR and other visitors representing oragnization and scools in Bethlehem.

Celebrating Christmas ceremony in Ghirass

More than 300 children, with their parents, celebrated Christmas on Friday 17th January 2014. The ceremony began with some entertainment activities for the children. The music teacher, Maher Al Derabani, led the way with these activities and then the Dabka Band gave a performance
