Workshop about “Ways to protect children from the bad side of the Internet”
On Thursday, 19th January 2012 Ghirass Center organized in cooperation with the Bethlehem Arab Society a workshop for parents about the right way in using the internet and how to protect their children. The project was presented by the social worker Ayed Houshiyeh and Jihad Hammad who is responsible for the computer department.

On Friday, 13th January 2012 Ghirass Center celebrated Christmas and the New Year with hundreds of children and their parents. The ceremony started with the national anthem. Then the deputy director Akram Abu Ali welcomed the audience.

Jehad Hammad The psychosocial department organized on Sunday, 18th December 2011 a workshop for parents about children abuse and neglect. Sexual abuse is the kind of violence where the children suffer severly in many ways.
The social worker at the center did various activities with the parents that can be done with children to protect them, such as safety questionnaires, discussions and to talk about sexual abuse and how to deal with it.
Ghirass Cultural Center concluded its training course about learning difficulties for 21 teachers

Jehad Hammad Ghirass Center concluded on Saturday 10th December 2011 a training course about learning difficulties for the governmental and United Nation schools. The training was given by the director of the Center, Ibtisam Ilzghayyer. It included 8 sessions with altogether 40 training hours and another 20 hours supervising in schools.

Melanie As a part of the Center’s strategy to strengthen marginalized areas that suffer from the occupation and its settlers, Ghirass Cultural Center organized a cultural activity on 10th December 2011 for the children, their parents and relatives in Zakaria village. As part of the campaign “Father read to me” the artist Khaled Massou read a story entitled the world of clips in front of 40 children at Ghirass Cultural Center

Jehad Hammad Ghirass Center hosted on its stage on Friday 2nd December 2011 the Palestinian artist Khalid Massou as part of the campaign “Father read to me” that was implemented by Tamer Association. 40 children with their parents participated in this activity together with the Ghirass librarian.
Khaled started his activity by welcoming the children and asking them about themselves and their schools. After that he read to them a story entitled the world of clips where he used the reading skills with some children acting.
Ghirass Cultural Center organized a trip for women to Nablus and Tulkarem

Jehad Hammad As part of its entertainment activities Ghirass Center organized a trip on Saturday, 4th December 2011 for 50 mothers and a number of parents who are sharing Ghirass activities together with Ghirass staff. It was the third trip within two weeks, two trips already took place for children.
