chess tournament

On the occasion of Russian People’s Unity Day on Friday, November 12, 2021, the Ghirass Center took part in a chess tournament conducted at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Bethlehem.

The Ghirass team competed with six teams from Bethlehem, Nablus, Ramallah, and Hebron, and we are delighted to announce they won second place in the championship. The Ghirass team consisted of the following children:

Amir Al-Harimi, Basmalah Al-Lahham, Nadine Ghoneim, Karam Al-Harimi and Muhammad Al-Herimi. Two children, Reval Assaf and Karmal Al-Jaafari, participated in a team with other children from Ramallah and got a good result. The chess championship provided a new experience for the children and helped develop their expertise.

We want to congratulate all the children who took part on behalf of the Ghirass Center on this great victory and say that we are proud of you. We also want to express our appreciation to the team’s trainer, Mr. Fadi Kassis for his continuous effort with all the children.

We also note the distinguished performance of the Hakaya band in the celebratory ceremony that was held at the Russian Center. Many thanks to all those who contributed to the organization and implementation of the celebration.
