Ghirass Cultural Center

 (Ghirass means young trees)

Is a cultural, educational, social and leisure center that gives children a safe space to meet friends,

learn, play games and take part in activities that enable them to become the  promising nex

t generation who will contribute to community building.

The center is affiliated to the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation.

Activities and events at the Ghirass Centre

Promoting reading through the Ghirass library and its reading campaign – “Born to Read”;

  • Promoting local communities through the outreach program;
  • Promoting Palestinian culture and folklore through the “Hakaya Group”;
  • Art and handicraft activities;
  • Recreational, educational and therapeutic games through the Department of Educational Games;
  • Children’s choral education through participating in a choir, in partnership with the “Waves Foundation”;
  • Outdoor games;
  • Overseas cultural exchanges;
  • Psychosocial counseling for children and their families;
  • Technological empowerment through the Computer Department;
  • The enhancement of teachers’ skills in pre-school and primary school settings;
  • Adult literacy;
  • Joint activities with Palestinian institutions through the Union, Sawa Sawa;
  • Annual summer camps;
  • Celebration of national and international occasions;
  • Sports Activities such as aikido, football and chess;
  • Activities for children and their families through the Film Club.
