Remedial Teaching Program
This is an important part of the Center’s work, established in 2000. It aims to improve a child’s learning skills which may have suffered from educational difficulties and learning delay. Work is carried out with children aged 5-12 years, developing a clear and specific plan, agreed on with parents. This plan is implemented after an evaluation of the child’s abilities and disabilities. The number of children, who have benefited from this program, taking every course into account, is approximately 100-120.
Staff in the remedial teaching department work on these skills:
A) Pre-school skills: these are used to support and improve the child’s basic knowledge;
B) Support and development of language through sound awareness and breadth of vocabulary;
C) Improvement of performance in intellectual skills, attention, perception, memory language skills and awareness and thinking skills;
D) Teaching the child strategies and learning methods
This will help the child to reach the expected curriculum level.
